- Three per cent of fathers living with dependent children are lone fathers.
- According to greetings card makers Hallmark, Father’s Day is the fifth-largest card-sending holiday.
- The film Father's Day (1997) starred Robin Williams and Billy Crystal as two middle aged men who are tricked into finding an ex-girlfriends runaway son when she tells them they are both the father. They have to team up to find the boy and discover who the real father is.The film was a hit due to the big-name cast but was not a critical success.
- Marilyn Monroe famously sung Cole Porter’s ‘My Heart Belongs to Daddy’. She did not know who her real father was.
- One of the best-know quotes about fathers was from Mark Twain. He said of his Father ‘When I was a boy of fourteen, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be twenty-one, I was astonished at how much he had learned in seven years.’
- The Episode of Dr. Who (played by Christopher Eccleston) entitled Father’s Day involved Rose Tyler (Billie Piper) travelling back in time to the day that her father was killed. She steps in to prevent his death causing the inevitable rent in the space/time continuum.
- More from the Office of National Statistics; in 1971 the average age of a father where the birth occurred inside a married relationship in England and Wales was 27; by 1999 this had increased to 31. These days, fathers are generally three years younger where births occur outside marriage. The average age of the father where the birth occurred outside marriage decreased from 28 to 26 between 1971 and 1991 but had since increased to almost 28 again in 1999.

Wherever You Are
It's Mother's Day.... Can't help but think of my mom who I think is watching me right now up above there. I just wish that she could feel my gratitude for having me one of her child (for bringing me into this world), for taking care of me for a short span of time (2 years and then she's gone....), for me giving me the love, and for just being my MOM.
when I was still young, I really have no idea of who's my mom. I grew up with my grandma as being my mom. So I thought she was my mom. Until they (my family) showed me a picture of her. .We have a lot of common....LOL. The height to be exact. LoL.
so anyway, I just want to thank her for everythimg. I just wish she's still here with me...(sob...sob...sob). I saw this poem and thought that it's true...It's entitled still in the heart.....
the loss of "Mom"
Is the saddest, that is true.
Sometimes, it is a blessing
When their "life" is in decline
Not, what it used to be
When, "everything" worked fine.
But still, it hurts so much
When Mother goes away
When you know you won't see Her
For, forever and a day.
But the memories will be there
And will help, to get you through
When, you're thinking of Mom
And, feeling kind of blue.
TO MY MOM... Medalla Pulvinar Brun (sori mommy kinumpleto ko pangaran mo)...thanks a lot and I love you... Happy Mom's day! and also to my grandma who made me as her son after mom had passed away....mama happy mother's day...

REST...KR's resting...ssshhhhhhh
JUST GUESS WHAT SHE"S DOING....... I have nothing more to say............ Comments? Comments? hahahaha.
It's so nice to have a complete rest after long-hours of work in the office. Just like her.... It's our weekend, so I'm thinking of resting my mind from thinking what to write, resting my fingers of touching the keyboard, resting my body of sitting all day, resting my eyes from the radiations of the pc.... basta REST.... gabos na klaseng except for the "COMPLETE REST (in peace)"!!!
Look at KR.... she seems not to worry about tomorrow... of what's gonna happen next... HEY!!!! Wake up KR!!!! Its already 5 pm...we have to go now. My bed is waiting for me now....
I'll share something I've found while reading about resting......
With pressures mounting on you at every direction and everyday, you wish that you could just run and hide away from it all. Do you feel that way? You also dream that you could just fly off to a remote island and take refuge. Not a bad idea, isn't it? You just want to get away from all the pressures of your everyday life.
Take heart, you are not alone; everyone will feel this way from time to time. Sometime, it is really an irony that we want to be in the middle of activity, achievement and perhaps limelight. While other times, we just want to let go everything. Perhaps, we have lost a sense of balance.
Living in this stressful society, you may be giving yourself great pressure and forget how to live and let the river of life moving thought you. With great demand and wanting to achieve, you drive your mind and body up to a point of breakage, whereby both rest and recuperating are necessary. It is good that if you can remember to rest, but for some, forgetting to rest may caused permanent damage to the body, mind and soul. To be in balance, you will need to break away from your turbulent, rushing and hectic daily exercise.
A very good example to understand why balance is so important is to look at the old grandfather clock. The pendulum must swing both ways at an even distance in each direction if it is to perform properly. If there is any deviation, the whole system will not be able to produce the intended results. Similarly, this applies to your lives as well. If you push yourself too hard without adequate time for rest for your body and the mind, you will be out of balance.
Taking time to rest is a must and not a luxury. You must take time to recharge yourself mentally, physically and spiritually. You will need to be in a state of equilibrium and this can be cultivated by having contact with your inner Self. You do not need to spend a lot of time doing this; you will just need to spend a few minutes of being truly in touch with yourself. And your real Self will restore your strength, courage and peace.
You do not need to run away to a remote mountain to achieve balanced life. If you cannot settle your mind down, even if you are all alone in an island, you will not achieve your inner mental peace.
While having to go on with your daily life routine, you will think that you do not have time for quiet or meditation. This got to change; you simply have to take time to rest if you want to be a well-adjusted, happy and successful person.
You and your soul are in one, and with patience and discipline, you can learn to keep your mind open so that you can turn away from the pressures of the day to an inner calm within you.
It does not take a great deal of effort to achieve this if you truly want to. To achieve this, you have to simply become still and turn quietly to your Center of Peace, which is yours at the center of your being.
You can truly find the peace you want. You can have all the rest you need right within you. Take heart and take time to rest. There is a Chinese saying, resting is to prepare to embark on a longer journey. For more information on how to have a desired life, please visit Peace of Mind.

KEYBOARDS KADIRI
Yup...cris. We have the same fate...LOL. Fate ba talaga?
But for me, I have to enjoy the weekend. I'll take a break from thinking of what to do and let my fingers rest from touching this keyboard.
Enjoy your weekend.
I mentioned about letting my fingers rest from touching the keyboard and speaking about keyboards do you know that computer keyboards can be dirtier than a toilet??? Eeeewwww...... Can somebody give me an alcohol? Do I have to continue this? I think I can't even touch now this keyboard my fingers are touching.
Anyway, there is a study by British consumer magazine "Which? Computing" had a microbiologist examined 33 keyboards in a typical London office, a toilet seat and a toilet door handle. The expert found out that four keyboards were potential health hazards. They were recommended to be removed because those keyboards had 150 times the pass limit of bacteria and five times filthier than a swabbed toilet seat.
The reason for this is eating lunch at desks. Your dropped foods encourages millions and millions of bacteria. Poor personal hygiene like not washing hands also contibutes to the dirtiness of keyboards
Mga katrabaho, dae ngani magkarakan sa desk nindo....LOL. For now, I will clean now my PC's keyboard....bacteria shoooooo.......

IRINUMAN PA!!!! more beers!
I m sleepy... I could not work.... I could not write anything... I could not think of anything to write....Mahinguragan naman ako kay TL.
Last night, I had a good ( a bit good and a bit bad....but it could qualify as good ) conversation with a friend. It made me realize something. That I should give myself a break.... Enjoy life.... and do whatever I like. We, have few Redhorse in front of us. A bit of talking and sip. But as time passes, we were talking about things that actually make sense and it made us drink more. It did not took us so long and we just noticed that we already finished the one bucket of Redhorse. So we headed home by then.
After that I asked my friend just near my brother's house for another drinking session...drinking session pati. We bought matador ( hahahaha...CAMEL gayud ako). My friend told me, that I am alcoholic. So i searche about alcoholism and I want to share it with you....(TAGAY PA!) Thanks to Cleveland Clinic Center for Consumer Health Information.
What is alcoholism?
Alcoholism is a disease in which a person drinks alcohol even though drinking hurts his or her life. Alcoholics often find that they have problems with people close to them, with school or work, and with other parts of their lives.
Alcoholism can happen after a month or years of drinking. It is a disease that gets worse the more the person keeps drinking. Without treatment, it can destroy both emotional and physical health and can lead to death.
Alcoholism is often called a family disease because it hurts the lives of family members and others who are close to the alcoholic. For the alcoholic to get well, family members often must take part in treatment.
People with alcoholism:
- Can be any age
- May feel a physical need or craving for alcohol
- Cannot be cured, but must get treated to stop drinking
- Often don't think they have a drinking problem
- Will develop serious health problems if the disease is not treated
- Can recover and get back their lives, with treatment
What are the symptoms of alcoholism?
Symptoms are different for each person. Just a few, or nearly all, of the following symptoms may be present:
Early stages
- Drinking for relief from problems
- Need for more and more alcohol to feel drunk
- "Blackouts:" Not being able to remember events or blocks of time that happened while drinking
- Hiding alcohol or sneaking drinks
- Thinking more and more about alcohol
- Planning activities around drinking
Middle to late stages
- Drinking more than planned
- Not admitting to having a drinking problem
- Trying to control drinking by using mind games, such as deciding to never drink before noon
- Breaking promises
- Having personality changes and mood swings
- Drinking as soon as they wake from a night's sleep
Late stages
- Having severe withdrawal symptoms (symptoms when the body is no longer getting alcohol) such as delirium tremens (also known as the DTs or morning shakes)
What causes alcoholism?
There is no single cause for alcoholism. A person's emotions, physical health, and upbringing can all play a part. Alcoholism runs in families, which suggests it may have a genetic cause.
An individual may also drink to get over difficult feelings or emotions caused by a treatable illness. Others may drink to lessen feelings of guilt, loneliness, or confusion.
How can I know if I am an alcoholic?
A person trained in treating alcoholism can tell if you or someone you care about is an alcoholic. This person may ask a series of questions. This information is also used to select the best treatment, if needed.
How is alcoholism treated?
Treatment for alcoholism can be different for each person. If the person has a serious physical illness due to the alcohol, he or she must get medical care right away.
Treatment often begins with "detox," or detoxification, which is the body's withdrawal from alcohol. After the body is clean of alcohol, the alcoholic enters a counseling program. The goal of counseling is to help the alcoholic face emotional issues that lead to drinking and to learn ways to stop drinking. Medications may be given to curb a physical craving for alcohol.
Treatment programs can last from a few weeks to years. Places for treatment include hospitals, live-in treatment centers, clinics, and counseling offices.
So to my fellow alcoholics......LET's DRINK TO THAT!!!!! isang tagay sa tagumpay mga dude!!!!Purely coincidence?
I've waited for a jeep for just a few minutes to ride a jeep going to our office and to my surprise again the Maroon 5 song is playing. The same song I heard a minute before going out of the house. It took me about 10 to 15 minutes getting to the office. As soon as I got off the jeep in front of our office's building, I heard again a familiar tune playing over the tricycle's radio parked in front the building. Oh my!!!! AGAIN! That song I heard two times that morning is playing again. Oh my! Oh my! But that just made me think.... Maybe there are lot's of people requesting for it so FM stations usually play it.
At the office, work... work.... work.... busy with my backlogs...which are still here..LOL. Then it's time now for our lunch break. Me and my brother's wife (who happens to be my officemate) went home together. The jeep stopped near the western Union waiting for some passengers. AGAIN... Won't Go HOme Without You is played. NAPUPURGA NA AKO!!!!!!
I just don't know...maybe there's meaning to it. I don't get it. I keep mulling over it last night. I think the song is telling me something... My friend KR...friend ko na siya!!! and I looked at its lyrics. It's ahhhh..... makamundo man na kanta na linagan ki makaskas na tempo...its a sad song with a fast tempo... Tama ba? LOL.
